At Claybird Studio, pottery is more than about learning techniques. Our classes are designed to help you slow down, explore your creativity, and build confidence and connections through clay. Whether you're brand new to pottery or continuing your artistic journey, you'll find expert instruction, supportive community, and plenty of room to grow at your own pace.
All Pottery Classes Include
8 weekly classes (2 hours each)
Unlimited Open Studio time during available Open Studio hours (includes independent entry code)
Dedicated instruction & demonstrations
One 25-lb bag of studio stoneware clay
Personal shelf space
Studio glazes and kiln firings for class and open studio work
Use of shared studio tools and equipment
Additional clay available for purchase. (Optional cubby rentals coming soon)
5% loyalty discount on future back-to-back class registrations

Summer Open Studio note: During the weeks of July 13-17 and July 20-24, some daytime Open Studio hours may be unavailable due to Kids Summer Art Camp. The Open Studio Calendar will reflect the most up-to-date schedule changes when they occur.
What You’ll Learn
Our ceramics classes cover a variety of skills, including wheel throwing, hand-building, trimming, glazing, decorating, self-expression and owning your studio practice. Whether you're learning the fundamentals or building on existing experience, there’s a class for everyone, and EVERYONE is welcome.

Ceramics: Wheel & Hand (Mixed Level)

PERFECT FOR: Beginners and returning students
Build confidence, develop new skills, and discover the joy of working with clay in a welcoming and supportive environment at any stage of your clay journey. You’ll never be bored here! Whether at the wheel or the worktable, this hands-on class encourages creativity, curiosity, and playful exploration.

Ceramics: Hand-Building Only (Mixed Level)
Wednesday Afternoons: July 8-Aug 26
4:00-6:00pm
LEVEL: Mixed (beginner & up)
AGE: HS through Adult
INSTRUCTOR: Vanessa Zammett
PERFECT FOR: Beginners and returning students
Gain a deeper understanding of clay and have a whole new appreciation for hand-building. Learning to hand-build is one of the most foundational and expressive forms of working with clay - giving you the skills to create just about anything you can imagine!

PERFECT FOR: Experienced potters with solid foundational skills
Enjoy a more self-directed studio experience with guidance, demonstrations, and support as needed. Explore new ideas, refine your skills, tackle more complex projects, and continue developing your unique creative voice.

Build confidence on the pottery wheel, develop new skills, and explore your creativity in a welcoming and supportive studio environment. Whether you're learning the fundamentals or refining existing skills, you'll be encouraged to stay curious, experiment with new ideas, and enjoy the journey of creating with clay.
